Polish LSST Consortium
The Polish contribution to the Rubin-LSST project involves the preparation and utilization of its Independent Data Access Center (IDAC), as well as a contribution to the LSST data processing systems.
Astronomers from the following Polish institutions are participating:

Professor Agnieszka Pollo, Ph.D., from the National Centre for Nuclear Research, serves as the consortium leader.
Vera C. Rubin Observatory
The Vera C. Rubin Observatory, formerly known as the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST), is an astronomical observatory located in the Chilean Andes. Its primary task is to conduct a synoptic astronomical survey, the Legacy Survey of Space and Time. The word “synoptic” comes from the Greek words σύν (syn “together”) and ὄψις (opsis “view”) and describes observations that provide a broad view of an object at a specific time.
The observatory is located at the summit of El Peñón, a 2647-meter peak on Cerro Pachón in the Coquimbo Region of northern Chile, right next to the existing Gemini South and Southern Astrophysical Research Telescope (SOAR). It’s named after Vera C. Rubin, the American astronomer who made groundbreaking discoveries about the rotation rates of galaxies, providing crucial evidence for the existence of dark matter.
